14.7 is at sea level... so MAP should be 14.7-actual pressure, I monitor in psi...

You're right on the sea-level, that's the reason we have all the dykes to protect us around here.

My house is build on the high side and it's 42ft above sea level, when i drive for about 1/4 mile it wil drop down to 3ft above sea level.

I live in a little town called Hoogerheide, and the name means " Higher on the heather ".
The town is famous because of the big drop "40ft", this is called " De Brabantse Wal " and means The Wall of Brabant ", Brabant is our province in the south of the Netherlands.

So far for a little education and background info .

Just filled up and mpg was 14.65, so not much difference. I spend lots of time idling going zero mph which equals 0 mpg. Doesn't matter what I do to this truck, it won't get much better cause I sit in some of the worst traffic known to man, LOL.

Beginning of last month, there was a mass returning to work across the city and evening traffic seems to be at pre-covid levels again. Electric or hybrid will be the way to go for me but of course, it takes forever to recoup the cost of a new car, unless gas stays sky high. Still, I have a truck that has well over 300K mi, so I'm due and then some.

Waiting to see where this goes before I go that route.... https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/e...te-vote-biden/

No matter what, I'm going to keep the Dak. Feels like it's got another 300K left in it. Drove a friend's much newer F150 with less than 100K recently and i'm appreciating the Dak even more now.

Looks you gonna drive a Chevy in the future......good luck

We get a subsidy of $ 3.000,= on a new car...... at least some of us.

For 2021 the application for subsidy was opened on 01-03-2021 and was all forgiven at 01-06-2021......so this means whoever comes first has something, the rest nada.

Looks like 2022 will be the same, so you have to buy you're car know and let it register on 01-02-2022, fill in the form and if you be lucky you get a $ 3.000,= refund.....

What is your engine setup? all stock? stock airbox? exhaust?

Checked for any vacuum leaks? (remember I was at 14.3 (?) at the start)

I have come across others who, no matter what they do, cannot change their mpg's... Knowing what I know now, I think that back then their MAP, crank & cam sensor may have been degraded to a point where it might have been in a default mode. Since you've already addressed the MAP, what about the cam & crank sensors? how old are they?

Cam and crank are the originals. Airbox and engine setup are stock. It’s running like a Swiss watch. Plenty of power. The mpg I’m getting out of it is pretty normal according to EPA and what others have reported all the years ive had it.

Spending half my time crawling or stopped and idling. No amount of mods or parts thrown will overcome that, short of start stop technology or cylinder deactivation. I do need to lighten my right foot too. I don’t baby it.

Most important thing to me is reliability right now and I’ve got that, despite super hi miles. For that I’m thankful.

i would swap those 2 sensors... then get some exhaust wrap and wrap the fuel rail & crossover tube... (ding... i forgot about the feed line to the rail)h pull the snorkle on the air box and tape over 1/3 of it.

then i i g some of that insulating tape i i linked and cover the bottom of the air hat. (ding... had not thought of that) with the goal to stabilize under hood operating temps for fuel and air.

$25ish ea for 2 sensors, $25 for exhaust wrap, $15 for tape. i i would bet your getting excessive hot air into the intake coupled with heat soaked fuel which is causing pinging you cant cant and your timing is getting pulled...

sorry for typos, for some reason this forum feels the need to auto correct somehow and some stuff ends up looking like gibberish .. i am giving up on keeping it fixed lol
