Thats not much damage considering 60 mph and hitting a dear. That guard did its job. Did you drag the dear home, skin it and eat it?

Last week I installed the nv241 DLD xcase and the 5/8's thick indexing ring or clocking ring. Works like a charm, all ds fit as they should have, no leaks, no grinding, shifts smoooth into 4h and 4l.

Today I installed the speedo gear 34 tooth, I needed a 33 but I don't have a 33 on hand and I am not ordering one from Dodge as they want a arm a leg and a nut for one. Getting one off the web is no cheaper for me either, works out to be the same as the one from the dealer costs. On the xcase there is supposed to be indexing marking for the speedo gear alignment I have none on either xcase.

Did you have troubles installing the speed sensor? I took mine out when I took apart the Transfer case(241dld) and after putting it back the speedo won't work. I tried turning it and moving it but nothing. I don't understand because I spun the gear with a drill and the speedo worked..

May not be indexed correctly. If the driven gear doesn't engage the drive gear on the shaft in the t-case, you won't get a speed reading. Probably won't get O/D, or TCC either.

No but I was caught off guard by not having the markings on the xcase for said teeth number. So all I did was, install it in the tail shaft housing, then rotate it clockwise until it stopped then backed it off until the clamp went into the grooves on the speedo housing, bolted it down and so far so good.

Drove her for the first time in a month to the car wash to clean out the engine bay for tomorrow's engine swap! A friend will be taking the old motor out while I'm in class, and when I get to the shop we can assemble the new one and throw it in! Getting excited! Only problems I know I'll have are the 02 sensors and tuner. Ordered the upstream from rockauto today, so should be here next week. Sean at hemifever can get my new tunes for $100 more, but that's not in the immediate budget. So she'll sit for another two weeks before I can really have some fun with it
