Well I revved rpm to drop down in to 4th gear and happened to be right next to a brand new hemi ram with a couple of good lookin blonde redneck chicks

well they took the rev to drop a gear lower as me "revving at them" and they wanted to race... they were waving and all smiles all excited lol. we finally got out of traffic and more out away from town on open road and they got a rude awakening trying to pick on an old cummins poor hemi didn't stand a chance I was goin easy too lol I couldn't run the power all the way up because I was breaking the tires loose walking out sideways in 6th gear going up hill @ 60+... damn rain. Coulda gone in to 4x4 I guess, but didn't feel like it.

Had I not already been on my way to get laid, I probably woulda stopped and got their number

 

Tried to diagnose the truck today. Any idea why Im getting 450km (280miles) to a 35 gal tank? :\ Costs me $190 to fill and it's killing me. It's never been this bad before.

I know its not the right way to do it but, I put a can of R134a In the truck and now it's blowing cold air

Off to get another can with some oil in it to top her off.

 

I've finally received my winch now, now to decide which 97 DODGE to put it on. My older is trusty & rusty 230000 uses no oil the new 97 is nice 170000 but consumes some oil. That's not a big problem because I don't drive a lot. Will I need to do any thing to address the extra weight? I probably won't even need the winch but, I've always wanted one just because. Ideas??? Thanx

 

Now that you have a winch you really wont need one. What one did ya get?

 

I've been running the 98 Ram 1500 on 89 octane. Between the new idle control and 89 octane I can tell the difference in improved performance. I won't know mileage improvements, (if any) until next weeks fill up. It's been running about 11 mpg's rural.

On another note, I'm in agreement with Jigs on our frames. The 98 has the cross member
underneath for the goose neck, other than that flex is minimal. I have a small creek I cross on the back side of the property and my entry and departure are always straight on unless it's muddy. The diesel off road, (I baby it).This past winter at -7 degrees I swear you could hear the frame stress when flexing. I love these trucks though. K.

Edit: I'm looking at a new PCM for the 98 and evaluating any future mods to this truck.
Edit2: both of the 2500's I have or had were as described by Jigs on frame structure. Weakness in any other era for 2nd gens, "Apples & Oranges"
come to mind.

Stopped by the stealership and picked up a crank position sensor ready for the weekend.
The book price was $128... the guy discounted it to $85... so getting the factory part didn't hurt quite as much... not quite RockAuto price, but no additional shipping... and if I get 170+K out of this one, I'll be happy.

 

Turning over a Ram to my buddy to sell (AC needs bleeding, and truck needs detailing), Called the dealership for seat parts on a truck, diesel in town is now $3.77 per gallon (today). K.

Edit 1. : While driving the 01 to it's scheduled oil change in town, heard the right front wheel bearing (wife thought the noise was in the right front door). So, Wednesday 6/25, she goes to the shop for a RF wheel bearing, a hood latch adjustment (hood lifts up 1/4" at 50+), vac AC down, and remove right side step up. Once this is complete, I can send to my buddy for detailing. I try and keep work off his plate since his business is selling cars.

Edit 2 : Fired the diesel up and had the wife take a gasser in a day early for the RF wheel bearing, hood latch, and a step up bar removal.
