It's just one I picked up at one of the local parts stores last fall. I think they called it severe duty now that I think about it. Since new OEMs are as rare as hens teeth, we're pretty much stuck taking a crapshoot buying aftermarket.

I pulled this one originally because I was sick of sounding like a dump truck. The replacement was terrible at keeping things cool at low speed so it had to go. Oddly enough, this one is now behaving itself just fine.

Do they look different? How can I tell if the fan is severe duty?

You really can't tell visually. I look up parts online before heading to the store and it's usually stated in the description. You can also ask the guy behind the counter as well.

Rotating the tires on the dually is rough. Finishing the chore in the rain is worse. Trim rings & hubcaps will go back on tomorrow after work.

How does this even happen? I'm just curious lol
Edit: Also did the front passenger brake pads, again. Cleaned the interior out a little bit and cleared a ton of mud out of the front end lol.

Well, did some work on the 98 yesterday. Got my new battery tray installed, so the batter is actually held in place now. (the old one had the tabs where the bolts screwed into the little clips broken off, so, no clips to screw them into.) Got the drivers rear door to open again.... It now works reliably. Attempted to change my spark plugs..... I had a half-inch ratchet with an extension, started on cylinder two. I couldn't get it to break loose........ I most certainly did NOT want it to break OFF, so, warmed the engine, hit the plug with some chems, and tried again. Nope. Granted, I am not as strong as I once was...... but, I was rather surprised. Guess I will talk to my buddies at the local shop I like, see how much they will want to grip me for changing plugs. Then, if THEY break one off, they have all the right tools to address it.

Surprisingly I never had a stuck plug or broke one. Always used antiseize on them with a little bit of grease. I guess in just lucky idk why wouldn't the rear door open?

I have own the truck for about a year and a half, so, I really don't know what its history is...... my guess is, the previous owner paid shops to do the work. (either that, or it simply didn't happen...... )

Lower latch was stuck. Spray some chems, wiggle door, spray some chems, wiggle door. Eventually, I had my wife hold the door handle, and I kicked the door open from inside. One good thump, and it popped open. Sprayed the lower latch THOROUGHLY with PB blaster to clean it up, and then hit it with some lithium grease, so, hopefully, it won't be an issue again.
