i know....but someone just told me the water contamination could have created steam, and blew the seal out........because i know for a 100% fact i seated it perfectly right, and it hasnt leaked for how long? 2 months?

Went out and looked at the starter. Yup, just as I suspected, Factory part numbers. ORIGINAL! Need to get a picture of the 170k though. Looking back it's the highest mileage vehicle I've ever owned.

Suprised me.. Hell those are usually the first thing I change when I buy a vehicle. Maybe because I always bought Fords! What was I thinking?


Also got a chance to wash it before it rained.

Feel your pain. I've actually had a starter fall out on one of the old Fords I used to have.

1972 Ford F100, had it for 6 yrs, changed the starter 5 times.

Waited all day for parts. Now the fun begins. Plenum plate, O2 sen, 180 tstat, 50mm TB, 14x3, fresh oil, and a nice little decal for the back window. Wish me luck.
