Shame I don't have $2500 plus transportation costs just sitting around. That would be a nice little....uh...weapon in old Lemon Drop.
Found out my carb was doing the butterflies with my secondaries today. I whacked the carb with a hammer and the secondaries started working again but I'm damn sure I've got a wicked carb problem. It's messing up my vacuum advance too.
If the carb was working fine it'd tow it with ease.

Got the Ford hooked up to the trailer.
Changed the normal 10w30 engine oil for 20w50 high performance conventional. Got it on sale for $13/qt.
Holds good oil pressure now, so the real trial is tomorrow when I get it up to highway speed...
And yes we are still looking at buying another Ford dually...

Leaking or burning?
Bad gas mileage and no power.
Some one help me figure this out. I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 318 nv3500 4x4 180,000 miles and got a new motor at 160000 by previous owner. I only get 10 to 12 mpg on the highway and have what seems like a loss of power and find myself downshifting for even small hills. The truck idles fine but around 1400 to 1600 Rpms sometimes will lose a little power and surge back slightly. Any pointers?

Besides, it's a lot easier to cruise in an auto. If I want to "drive" than I'd prefer manual.
