I definitely call bs on 30mpg v8 in a truck....

ain't happenin.

not in a full size with truck gearing anyway...

now if it were a light pickup with 3.43 gears and a T56 transmission, I might believe 24mpg....but still not 30mpg...

I say that because my Z28 with the 350 LT1, T56 trans (double overdrive 6-spd) and 3.43 posi rear got 20-24mpg if you were easy on the throttle. 70mph was just 1500rpm in that car...

No highway mode operating in the PCM on those..... not even sure if the code is in the programming for it. I went from 21, to 28 on the Eway just but flipping a couple switches in the programming...... no other changes. Granted, 30 MPG out of a big cube V-8 in a heavy truck is a bit difficult to swallow..... I would LOVE to see the documentation for that.

What, did you like it? What I replaced it with isn't something you guys will really catch on unless you know me well enough LOL...

Dodge didn't seem to think a knock sensor was necessary on the truck engines.... so, we don't have one. It would take some serious experimentation to get it right, and I suspect it would be a perpetual battle trying to find the right combination. Changing over to a GM OBDII system, WITH a knock sensor, would be MUCH easier.

I had even considered when the time came for my engine to be replaced, getting an LS? Engine and wiring from some GM product or other, and dropping that in place of the 360. Even my old OBDI small block chevy was a torque monster with the TPI..... and a fair few folks have adapted the OBDII sequential systems to the TPI...... That would make an interesting combination.
I've actually considered dropping in a Ford EEC-4 into the Dodge and getting my chip burner. It has a knock sensor and is easy to tune. About the only major thing that'd need to be changed is the fuel system would need a regulator to step it down from 45 to 35PSI. As far as gauges go IDK yet, both Ford and Dodge use Denso gauges, but compatibility might be a question. Oh, and injector firing order will be different but IIRC that can be fixed easily by swapping injector wires around to make the firing order correct. I know I could also fix that in the chip.

Who said we don't love our Magnums? If we didn't love them we wouldn't be looking for ways to improve them. I think the Magnum has alot of potential that hasn't been realized yet. Maybe, when I get tired of the Dodge using a carb I'll drop in a Ford EFI and see how much improvement I can make...

Putting any other engine in a Dodge is grounds for lynching....

I bought this:
http://www.lowes.com/pd_221014-47120...7C1&facetInfo=

For a catch can, but the fittings are NOT 3/8 in on the catch can, they're more like 1/2-3/4 in. Any help here?

No, the "highway mode" is accomplished through the chip, which overrides the EEC programming. The user has to select it through the DPT switch, then the chip adjust to operating conditions as programmed.

Air fittings are either SAE or NPT. They don't mix. Might be your problem.

it was a 94.

I miss that car. It got me into too much trouble though so I had to sell it. (got pulled over doing 110 in a 60 and 10 minutes before getting caught, i had the speedo burried on the peg past 150mph and climbed another 1000rpm and still had plenty to go before redline, but the car was getting lift and it freaked me the F out lol. scary when your car feels like its floating rather than being firmly planted on the ground...) sold it to a now ex gf, and she wrecked it more than once...

not to mention she didn't change the fuel pump out like I told her to and it stopped running shortly after. lol

pics before I sold it...
