I got some pretty blue FelPro Valve Cover gasket's when I did mine

 

No appreciable oil loss. 2500 miles and still on full mark. But bottom of engine has been covered in oil. Noticed when I did tranny, and even bought oil pan gasket (still in box) in the event it was coming from there. VC bolts were pretty loose. Tightened them when I did e-fan a couple weeks ago.


Almost a shame to cover them with VC.





Just opened the box - mine are that purty blue as well.....I'll have to see waht I can do with that.....mmmmmmm.....


So of course you guys know I gotta do something different here.......stay tuned!

 

I painted my valve cover's Chevy Red.... Well, red engine enamel anyway....

 

Sooo....after the blue metallic strip painted on test hood yesterday, who could NOT see this coming? Was originally planning to repaint black....but nearly everybody has black valve covers!




E-mail form John Mercedes last week - the black performance valve covers are on back order. I'll use the nearly $200 on something else.....

 

How much horsepower do you get out of performance valve covers??

 

An extra 125 hp and 50% increase in torque, as long as I put the HS stickers on the top, and a 10 mpg increase!

 

And who would have thought I would find something else to paint on my Ram?

 

I was worried you'd paint them blue! Valve cover's look great!

 

I don;t live in a neaighborhood where colored wiper arms are prominent. Heck, stripes aren't prminent either - but that's why I am doing it. There are about 6 black QC Rams in this tiny town. 2 of them have blown plenums that I know of, 1 does not (the one seeo to be sporting a blue stripe). Wife told me not to stripe her car. She can be such a killjoy.....

Waiting on clear to dry to install covers....then bust her off and see how it runs!

 

That blue theme is gonna be killer... Them valve covers look awesome! Why din't you take the PCV out when you painted them?
