The Official 2nd Gen Ram OT Thread
Hey guys (and gals), I need some help:
I have a 2006 Mazda 3 with the 5-speed auto. I went through the steering, suspension, and a lot of regular engine maintenance last year and had the car running great. Come this past December, the transmission started acting up and has thrown a code (Shift Servo E Stuck Closed). Here is a link where I posted the issue on a Mazda forum. The pump whines line a 2-year old on start-up, so I'm guessing there are some internal issues.
My main problem is finding a rebuild manual for the FNR5 transmission. Ford uses a variation of this transmission, so I cannot use the Ford version. I found a great video, on YouTube, where the tech walks through teardown and rebuilding of the transmission. I figure I can do the job for under $1,000 (including upgraded parts) versus $2,500 for a professional.

I would appreciate it if anyone can assist with sourcing a manual.

I found a guy who was able to get me a copy of the overhaul procedures from Mazda. I'm gathering tools, and other implements of destruction, so I can drop the transmission in July.

So back at the beginning of May I got into a chain reaction crash. I of course ended up being deemed at fault because I was the caboose.
I hit a 2015 grand cherokee. Barely any damage to the jeep, over 2k in damage to my truck!

so, I thankfully have friends in the automotive field. One, owns his own body shop!
so for less than 1k later, my truck now looms like this:

I love how it came out, and can't stop staring at her!

Just figured I would post a video of how resilient these trucks are from this time period. Now I know its not a 2nd gen ram but I think the point still remains. Its been over 2.5yrs since the accident and this is the first time I tried to start it from the accident.
