I haven't gotten to the valves yet but I have adjustable roller rocker arms & will do the adjustment as explained in a few videos I've watched. Take them down to zero lash and then a 1/2 turn more if you're running 3/8" studs.

I've got to get the cam degreed and checked to make sure it has the lift as advertised. Then Tuesday my adjustable push rods will be here so I can measure for length and I'll order the push rods I need.
I have the Chevy Ones that are 3/8 stud 1.6 from Hughes got to figure out how to get them to work never did adjustable valves

Now the rest of the story about my old engine and transmission. The 5.2 I've already shown you pictures of what the heads looked like and the cracked valve seat. So when I gave the engine to another member from my Jeep forum I told him he had to take the transmission also. IT is a 44RE so I wasn't going to reuse it. This guy lives in Montana and was over in Seattle taking care of some family business. So on his way home he stopped and pickup both items.

Then this past summer I guess on a local forum he'd heard about someone who had come out from VA for some construction jobs towing a small travel trailer behind their Dakota. But they'd got here and the transmission had gone out in this guys truck. He'd been able to bum ride and such to make it to and back from the job site but he was at risk of losing his job. He was parked in the back corner of a Motel 6 and would get a room every 3-4 days to get a shower and stuff. So the guy I'd given the engine & trans to drove over and gave this guy my old transmission. They moved the truck around and got it on some ramp with plywood under it so he could have room to work on it. Swapped the transmission out and once it got fluid running thru it the transmission worked fine. Even drove his wife back to VA and then came back out to keep working. So the transmission went to a good purpose and help out someone in need.

I haven't done it yet but have just been watching the videos on how to do it. Once I get to that point I'll try to help you all I can.

Got it.... A $1.29 part... But as they say when you NEED that part it really doesn't matter how much it costs.

Look up the valve adjustment procedure for a chevy small block. Since you have chevy parts on there, the procedure will be the same.
