I thought so too...... But no joy, the solenoid sticks out too far and is actually farther out than the other starter. So I put the other one back in and will contact Speedmaster on Monday and see if I can get some measurements of the other starter that they offer. It's out of stock right now but when they get more in if it's smaller, I'll order it.

Can you re-clock it to move the solenoid in closer to the block? Or even UNDER the starter itself? (not sure how good of an idea that would be......)

Yep, I'd clocked it in all 3 positions seeing if it'd make a difference. But it didn't matter which position I had issues no matter where it was. I did reach out to Speedmaster to see if they offered anything else that might help.

For those of you that have been following this thread may know how much this means to me.... This happened on Saturday....

Yes I know BIG deal it's just cranking but I haven't been able to do that for over 10 years.

Now next question for all of you. I plugged in my scanner to the OBD2 port and got this code on my MAP sensor.

Here's the wiring going into the plug for the MAP which is correct by the wiring diagram. So do I need to trace my wires to see if I've got a break or something?

I haven't check for voltage yet but here is the pinout on the plug. By this I've got it wired correctly.

That's awesome. Getting close!!! Getting Close!!!

There are a lot of sensors on that 5 volt circuit. TPS, ECT, etc. Check some of the others as well, see if it is a single sensor problem, or more widespread.

Used a back probe and got 5.13 volts.so the MAP is getting the voltage it's supposed to. I think I'm not going to worry about it until I can get it started and then I'll see what codes I've got.

Hhhmmm.... Not sure where the pcm gets it's signal that the map is actually getting it's correct voltage.... I don't recall where the ground wire from the sensor goes... but, it's conceivable that it gets it there. Aside from that, I am not sure that it can actually tell.....

Once I hooked stuff up and got the fuel system figured out all those codes cleared.

Here ya all go.

And then a little more for your viewing pleasure. Still a LONG ways to go but this was a major turning point for me.

I'll try to post progress pictures as I go along. Fuel lines hooked up but I need to add a check valve in the system.

After the engine ran this is the only code I have in the system.
