So, 5000 RPM at 2 MPH? Or will it even go that fast?

Don't need the right tires to push the house off the foundation.

OK, Been moving along with this rebuild but have ran into a issue with my transmission. I've been pulling codes with my generic DTC reader and was only getting P0753 but then connected the SnapOn scanner and came up with P0745 & P0743 also.
Since I built this wiring harness I'm going to guess I either missed a ground or a voltage. Would love some input as a starting point without me having to remove my whole harness again to try and find the problem.

P0753 - Shift Solenoid A
P0745 - Pressure Control Solenoid
P0743 - Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid

So as I said I'm guessing I messes up on something. I do have power to the A/T relay.

You have a 46RE in there, don'tcha? If so, make sure the 12 volt feed goes to the correct pin on the trans connector. All three of those want that 12 volts.

Yes it's a 46RE. It's a brand new rebuilt transmission so I doubt it's any of the solenoids. I'm guessing it's got to be either a pin on one of the PCM plugs or at the transmission that is not making contact. I'd double checked all the wires by the pinout diagrams prior to looming the harness.

OK I've been working through this and I think/hope/might have some of the problems solved. Went back and found that I'd not gotten the lock snapped in all the way on the C3 connector on the PCM. Got all the pins in place I HOPE and locked the keeper in place. Plugged the PCM back in and reconnected the battery and now my only code is P0748. Found a PDF on how to troubleshoot this DTC so will try it next but figured I'd ask just in case someone here had experience with this DTC.

It doesn't like your governor pressure solenoid..... Wonder if you got a bad one right out of the box.

You know I kept telling myself it was going to be something easy and stupid..... And guess what? It was.

So I'd pulled the transmission relay out of the PDC with the key on and could hear it clicking each time I did it. So dumb me assumed it was working. So yes it was being energized but if there wasn't power on Pin #30 of the relay it couldn't send power to the transmission as it should. I'd used one of the relay spots for the heated rear window but silly me had forgotten to install the fuse for that relay spot.

BOOM install the fuse and all my troubles have gone away. Transmission now shifts and I can turn the O/D on & off.

Now I've got another question.........
I'm trying to install a O/D light but the manual doesn't really show much of how it works. When I hit the switch to turn the O/D off the sense wire gets a small pulse of voltage but then the voltage goes away. I'm guessing there must be some type of module that turns the light on and off. Be cool if I could figure out a way to make a light illuminate when I turn O/D off.

PCM already has that capability. At least, it should be easy on a 96-97 PCM, on the 98 and newer, the PCM just tells the cluster to turn on the O/D Off lite... The older PCM will have a couple pins for that light, which on the older trucks is integrated into the switch itself.
