Manual or auto trans? If you have an auto.... you are going to need to do something for the electronic controls...... If the PCM doesn't have a clue what the engine is doing..... it isn't going to know what to do with the trans either.
Switching to a manual trans would solve the issue though.
Other problem becomes the Instrument cluster.... most of which is driven by.... you guessed it.. the PCM. You would need to do something about all of that as well.

its an auto,the trans isnt controlled by the pcm.I was gonna keep it injected but I just figured removing the computer and converting it would be better then messing with the pcm when it comes to tunes for it.

BTW, I can modify the bajesus out of a Magnum Motor, my Dakota runs 11's NA at 8600' DA, that's 10's at sea level. But my Ram...Pretty much bone stock, probably going to stay that way. I have bolt on goodies for it, I just know what will happen if I cross that bridge.

carb seemed better then messing with computer tunes.the cam that was sugested will i have to get a computer tune?
