idle loops

We are getting somewhere
Ok, so the P1391 is gone thanks “Hey you” for sharing the shop manual, becuase I was able to trace out the circuit and find that the cam connector had a dead short from power to ground. However, the idle is still a little funny, so I’m hoping it didn’t fry the PCM. It will run for 5 to 10 minutes now with no codes, but sometimes it will stumble out. What do you guys think?

I’m retarded
ok, so come to find out, there is a short on the power side of the harness. Becuase it goes through the map sensor as well, however I’m still confused as to why it grounds on the power side but whatever. So, back to square one again and I’ve read several forums of guys doing the same thing as me. They change the wires and plugs and the truck never runs right again. So, my question is, if the idle is looping can a fuel sync issue cause that problem? All of the videos I’ve seen of resetting a fuel sync issue the car is idleing smoothly. What say you?

I say you need to find the short. There's youtube videos you can watch.

According to that page the Map should be unplugged, but if it is pluged in. Then I have a dead short to ground on the power wire, but the website says to unplug everything.
Also, no have haven't checked the slop on the chain, because I'm working by myself. However, I would imagine that I need to move the crank back and forth and see how much the distributor moves correct? I guess I could take a picture of the distributor
