Help with misfire and bogging down
Install the box, get as much of the old fluid out as you can. (just leave the hoses disconnected, and spin pump by hand for a bit.....) hook everything up, fill up the pump, turn the wheels back and forth several times, engine OFF, top off fluid, start the motor, and crank the wheels lock to lock several times. Check the fluid, if its still foamy, let it sit for 20 minutes or so, for the air to work its way out, top off fluid, and do it all again. Keep doing that till the fluid no longer gets foamy.
Flushed heater core and tried to get all of the air out in a 10-15min drive I got warm air! So I’m hoping if I had more time it would eventually be hot but we will see about that only drove it a little bit because steering box is still messed up It’ll be about a week Before myn comes but thank you all very much for all the info in getting this truck back together
I think it's only three or four bolts, the shaft from the column, and the pitman arm. The pitman arm is the fun part. It becomes one with the shaft, and can be a right pain in the keester to get it to come off.
Got new steering box in it and bled it and everything but it feels kind of tight way easier then what it was I can turn both directions but now when I brake it almost yanks the truck to the left but I figure that’s not steering related but when I was bleeding it thought I had it bled but then when I drove it around the block the steering wheel felt kind of tight both ways and almost like a grinding feeling both ways? Think it’s just because it’s new or I’m paranoid the part has a lift time warranty what’s y’all thoughts
