Well, I got some work done this weekend:

First things first. I drilled into the oil pan:

And boy, am I glad I took it off to do it. I dropped a lot of metal shavings while I drilled the hole:

Here is the oil pan off, clean as a whistle of course, I don’t **** around with oil changes =)

It was incredibly easy to take off!!!!! Just remove the power steering links and cross member and bam!

Here is the hole:

The pump is completely wired. I did not use any resistors or check valves. I ran the truck until it was hot with no pressure issues or leaks.

I’m planning to get the wastegate today as well as hook up the safc. With that done I’ll get everything welded tomorrow and finally BOOST!!!

Thanks Remme, Im tunning with the SAFC for now but I'm definitely going to go with either a standalone, or SCT down the line.

Does the oil pan have a factory gasket, or RTV?

Eimer I removed the old oil pan gasket and replaced it with a new factory one.

I got the truck back from the exhaust shop today. Stay tuned for some pics and videos

Good move buying the expensive exa-pump. My cheap chinese pos's 1.3gpm isnt strong enough. My pressure switch inline with the return goes off everytime Im in boost, it's set at 4psi. When I let off the gas I get a huge puff of white smoke from my exhaust. Oil is backing up in the line and the turbo is burning it off, went ahead and bought the exa-pump. Should be here by mid-week. On a different note, when your up and running, let me know the difference in psi from your wastegate to your boost gauge. I have a 4psi spring in my WG, the boost controller is at its lowest setting so I should be seeing 4's, at full throttle Im only seeing 2psi. So I'm losing two from th the turbo, prob through the IC and piping. Waiting for the new scav. pump before turning it up....

Hey Remme. I got everything up and running today. Wow does that turbo sound sweet.

Just when i thought I was done...I blew a turbo seal. Started pouring white smoke from the exhaust as well as a small leak from the turbo itself.

My guess is that there is just too much oil entering the turbo. An oil resrictor in between the oil feed and turbo should be the answer.

Hmm its really weird that your oil would backflow into the turbo. After all that pump is barely doing any work, its a very small amount of oil its returning back. As far the the PSI drop. 2 PSI sounds about the right drop you would get from all the piping + intercooler. Time to go up in boost. Just go with a 10 lbs spring, you will be fine. Thats what i have on mine right now.

Im taking the turbo off tomorrow, having it rebuilt on Monday and its back on after that. This time with the oil regulator in place.
