Got the bolts for the stock motor mounts, now I can test fit the motor. I'll do that tonight.

Yeehaw!! Nice to see her underway. I'll be doing this in the fall if all goes well. My Hemi is sitting on my shop floor on a pallet right now. It would look alot better in the truck. I'm sure I will have lots of questions for you when it's time. Good luck. Any room for a supercharger in there? Lol.

No problem, I'll be around. There is plenty of room for a supercharger lol. I might be crazy but I swear this is a smaller motor. It's wider down low but narrower up top, a tad longer and a tad taller all together. But it just seems tiny. I guess I'll have to see how it is with everything hooked up.

Now keep in mind this is a test fit, but damn it fits very well. Passenger side bolted right up and I threw 4 bolts in the trans to hold it together. The drivers side will need some kind of mods or a new block bracket all together. I will piece something together with plastic, then cut it out of metal and have a shop weld it for me. Look closely at the clearance between the master cylinder and the back coil.

I'm so pissed off at myself for not putting this in my truck. 😡

I mocked up some thick plastic engine mounts last night, took it to a fab shop and he's gonna have me an engine mount tomorrow or Friday. It will be made with 1/4 plate so it will be pretty strong. I put the engine back on the stand to I can redo the wiring harness and make it nicer, plus paint over all the rusty welds in the engine bay.

Here's a teaser pic of the engine when I was test fitting. It's almost sad to have it on the stand again lol

Here's a checklist, small things and such that I need to remember to do.

Put OE gaskets on headers.
Take care of rust spots.
take bellhousing guide pins from 4.7
Prime and install torque converter
re-loom harness
extend and splice connectors
fuel line
radiator hoses
power steering lines
Trans cooler
drain excess oil (overfilled)
top off trans

Looks awesome and good work. I'm glad to see someone doing this and documenting it. Next year I will be looking for another G3 Dakota and doing this also.
