changed my 2001 dak from 3.55 to 4.10. with a 3.9 V6 auto trans. i drive in town only, and my MPG went from 8-9 MPG to 11-12 MPG cause it let my O.D. come in at 35 MPH. NOTE: in town only.
What rear end to you have? 8.25" or 9.25"? You can purchase factory LSD units from randys ring and pinion. Or, drop in a better unit like the the Auburn or Eaton.
I'm kinda disappointed with my Auburn lately, maybe I need a fluid change but it doesn't seem to be as tight as it was when it was new. It will still keep 50/50 power transfer in a straight line, but cornering almost feels "open" anymore. It will spin 1 wheel in a turn if I let it. When it was new, (12k miles ago) it was tight, and almost reluctant to allow the wheels to spin at different rates when cornering. But then again, maybe it's just the way it should feel when it's worn in.
