Got my Cortex a week ago and love it! It appeared that tire size on the cortex was set to 31.5" so I adjusted it to 33" which is what the stock 275/60/20 tires should be..correct me if I'm wrong. Driving today with the gps I noticed that my speedo was about 3-5 mph faster than what the gps said. Should I adjust it back to 31.5"??? Thanks for the help

I called Superchips with the same question/concern. I was told they found most tires @ 275/60/20 are actually smaller than 33 inch.

If you find your tires are in fact taller, change it to that, but I doubt they're actually 33 inches tall. Measure to the center of your tread.

PS I adjusted my settings to 33in too prior to calling..... lol

To correctly set tire size:

1) Make sure the tires are properly inflated.
2) Measure from the ground to the top of the tire - use a level to get a more accurate measurement.
3) Enter the tire size to the closest 1/4"

Waalaa - GPS and SC are now in sync.

If you plan on keeping your '03 for a while, it may be more cost affective to get a used flashpaq 3815 as it supports the 03-08 years- just make sure it's NOT VIN locked or it would cost you another $100 to get it unlocked. The 3815 does NOT support the Advanced Trans Upgrade and the '03s also are not supported by the Advanced Trans Upgrade.

The few differences between the Flashpaq 3865 and Cortex 3950 are:
1) the Cortex supports a wider range of vehicles.
2) the Cortex offers a two year drive train warranty which is voided when the Advanced Trans Upgrade is purchased and there may be a limitation on number of miles the truck has.

Bottom line: Flashpaq would be your best bet. Whether you choose to purchase the 3815 or 3865 is up to you.

Good Luck!

No, no, no, the 3865 is the next generation to the 3815. It will do the same exact thing as the 3815 for your 03. I was only trying to save you a few pennies by pointing you to the 3815. The 3865 will do you well.
