I'm not a fan of the jetchip. Most folks run a handheld tuner, which will give you more gains and is much more configurable. I've seen some folks post here they picked up a new Flashpaq 3865 for around $340. Don't run the two together.

I just honestly didn't like the looks of it as much as the Cortex
When you run the Data acquisition, you'll have it plugged in the truck with you. For tuning; plug, tune, unplug. I have the Cortex. I just like the look of it, compared to the Flashpaq. If you want to save money, go with the Flashpaq.

Wow. I would never have expected such an improvement from just a tuner! I had to wait for Superchips to make a new tune for me because my truck had a brand new one from dealer they had not yet seen, but it was so worth the wait.

91 perf. tune and set the right tire size (33" from 30.5") produced a 5 mpg gain as per the truck's trip console for my normal driving!! I know that is not a TRUE 5 mpg increase, as the corrected tire size had to help, but I don't believe just the tire size made up the 5 mpg difference! Regardless, looking up and seeing a average of 17 - 18 mpg versus the 12 - 13 mpg I'm used to seeing sure as hell makes me feel better if nothing else. I'll have a better feeling on true gains after a tank or 2.

Even if there was NO MPG gains, the difference in the truck is truly amazing! No more crazy random gear changes, no more always feel like the truck is lugging, and bogging, and in general, feeling like the "SS Fat Bloated Pig" unless you have your foot in it and revving the thing. The drive ability improvement is night and day. Speaking of revving it, when you do, hang on...lol...I pulled out of my road and tramped on it, leaving 2 black marks about 30 - 35 ft long. I did the exact same thing once before....it produced a "shuddering" feeling for about 10 ft. haha!

I want 34" tires, but I was so worried about the performance hit, and lack of performance at 33" I was considering going to 4.56 gears (from 3.73), or even going back to the dinky stock size rubber. No worries running 34" now!

Best bang for the buck you will find for these trucks!
Nice feedback.

After you become more comfortable with the programmer, check out the advanced trans options.

When you say Data Acquisition you mean when I first plug it into the truck and it uploads my stock tune and all that info correct? Than once I upload the tune I want, I just unplug the programmer and I can put it inside Im done with it on that tune until I want to change something again. Correct?

Yes and no. You do upload the tune and unplug. But for data you can leave it plugged in and monitor many different engine and system parameters. I.e. Trans temp, intake air temp, rpms, throttle % etc.

Attn: superchips employees

You guys should put an interactive display on your website so people can click through the menus and such of a flashpaq and see all the options available. Almost like a ******* flashpaq on your site.

Well I just bought the SC 3950. Cortex. I liked the look of it and found a website offering 10% off. So I got if for $340 free shipping. I think I am going to keep it connected to the truck all the time. Prob just find something to mount it somewhere. If not than Ill just take it out. I just didn't like the look of the other one. I am very excited. I hope with my CAI, Header and Exhaust that I can get some good HP gains. But really I would like 1-2 mpg. Im getting about 15.4 right now

Nice deal! If you mount it you will have to remember to unplug it nightly. It draws power from obd port regardless of ignition switch.
