This is what my new seat covers look like after 100 miles. My old seat covers look better than this at 10K miles!
I'm also not impressed with the installation of the seat covers, the whole thing seems loose and the foam cusions are sticking out. My old seats weren't like this.

The abnormal wear is something all of us with the problem have to live with until Chrysler addreses this as a problem. Who knows is they will. 6 months of correspondence says Chrysler is not going fix the problem. Rather replace my truck....2 months back. Now who knows with Chrysler in bankruptcy..screwing everyone to survive.
They have admitted there is a problem with the seat cover.

However after having 3 seat covers put in mine I can tell you your install is not done correctly....obvious to anyone.
The wear we have to live with for now.
A bad install you do not have to live with. Take it back.
They should have never let you leave with that crap installation.

There is a plastic clip across the front the of the cover that clips to that metal lip under the seat.

Have to pull it really really tight to get that clip on. Mine was installed bad the 2nd time. I fixed it. Those wrinkes might pull out when installed correctly.....then wear out again.

Cheers
Blue

Thanks for clarifying the crappy installation, I knew something wasn't right when I first saw it.

The seat just kept getting worse so I took it to the dealer today and they refused to replace the seat again. They aknowledged that it was a problem but they said chrysler was working on the problem and that I had to wait.
I went to another dealer and they said that it was normal so they refused to replace it.

Looks like I need to start rebadging:

I think it would be funny if someone rebadged their truck as a Fiat. I am sorry to hear that they won't fix the problem.

I'm seriously considering this project. I've found some fiat badges that match the truck well. The only dilemma is that massive badge in the rear, not sure what to do there yet

what kind of leather cleaner/conditioner are you guys using? My choice is mcguires leather cleaner/conditioner, once a month. I swear by it. Used it on my 04 Dakota, 06 F150, 07 Ram, and am now using it on my 09. Another tip I can give is to use spray wax like the nano wax on your chrome wheels, grille, exe... The brake dust and road grime will basically just rinse off after a couple uses.

I like my Tundra otherwise. I have had zero problems. Its wierd everyone says the Chevy gets better mileage but my Tundra gets just as good or better than 2 of my fellow workers who bought 08 chevy's. In the dodge the bad roads is still pretty smooth and the driving of this vehicle changing lanes is like a sports car. Its like driving a car but you get your truck. The only thing is quality.
You keep on supporting the foreign car makers go get yourself another good Toyota, gee the rust situation on those sure went away quick and quietly. My buddy had a Tundra...worse gas mileage he has ever had, truck has been in the shop for everything from A/C to cracked heads. Hit a puddle one day and it splashed the motor and the heads cracked...they must have been pretty hot LOL or maybe that quality metal they use.
I see China or Korea or somewhere over there is presssing the US to put that stimulus idea of trading in your junk car for substantial money so they can buy the recycled already rusty metal cheaper to build their quality Toyota's.
GM is pulling support for Nascar except for the Sprint cup cars. The rest are done...Nationwide and Trucks I don'tknow if they are pulling any support for other types of racing. I wonder when Dodge will follow suit or will they, They just got back into it in the last 20 or so years has it not been. Toyota is nicely situated in there too. I know they have plants in Canada and the US and the jobs are here but where does the profit go, after we give them tax incentives and or some other incentives to build plants...seems to happen down south in the US the most from what I have concluded but that could be wrong.
Anyway let us know what you buy. Sorry I just get really edgy since working for Chrysler for 16 years before I retired due to disability when I hear about how much better quality Toyota has....compare the price for what you get. They are not problem free just like all the car companies. Once in a while you get lucky, I have had the best luck with GM as far as warranty issues...only had a replaced engine on on 84 S-10 and they did it in one day. Dropped it at 6 am picked it up at 5 with a brand new engine.

We work on trucks all day long everyday!

Dodge is damn good in the quality department and really always have been when compared to other models. However Dodge has always had "plastic" issues with they're interiors but look at everyone else out there! Every manufacturer has problems somewhere year after year.

I really am not impressed with the Tundra's plastic console and large plastic devices. Everything you grab feels like Toy's R Us and have seen many break console covers and have rattle trap interiors, Radio heads with shorted out displays, and poor mileage...like real bad.

As for this problem, ya mine has it to but Im not going to get exicited about it until its a real problem like being cracking, worn through or severe distortion. Before warranty is up Im sure I'll be paying the dealer a visit. Katzskin is a real alternative but again I'll wait till either I feel like changing the truck for customization reasons or If Dodge doesn't fix the problem with a new design.

Ford's interior is WAY worse, a good customer of mine is Ford through and through and HATED his 06 so much that when I told him about his 3 piece spark plugs and what could take place when changing them he freaked and said THATS IT IM DONE WITH THIS POS. Went out and bought the 09 Dodge and so far is VERY satisfied. Point is If Ford can't keep a lifelong customer like this how good are their trucks?... (Not to mention gutless)

Chev?...Im not even going there, Long story short if GM truly went out of business and stopped making trucks I'd probably go bankrupt to. We depend on them out of SHEER Volume!

Want to see bad interiors? Check out the Titan after a couple years...

So far Ive always had Dodge's and hopefully always will, I do have a 97 Cheyenne 2500 and basicly restored it back to new (Engine, trans, diff, front end,paint...) Interior? Nice shape but don't hit a bump or grab the interior handles to hard as they have a tendency to snap!

We've got AWESOME trucks!

I'm fighting with the dealer right now trying to get the seat replaced a second time, they simply refuse to do it. I called customer service yesterday and they told me that my seat is still subject to replacement under warranty and that cannot change unless the dealer calls the district manager and disproves it. She said my dealer never called the district manager for some reason but she contacted the dealer to get in touch with the manager if they think it shoudn't be replaced.
So I called the dealer today and they said a rep. from chrysler is going to be here next week to look at it, this remains to be seen. I'm really unimpressed with my dealer, they just keep running me around and stalling the issue.

Blue2050 or anyone else who's had their seat replaced more than once, did you have to go through all this crap to get the seat replaced a second time? I seen where you talked to someone that told you to get the seat replaced everytime it messed up, thats what I want! They keep telling me the seat will do it again so there's no use in replacing it until there's a fix. I realize this but the seat does last about a month and I think a 45K truck should keep a respectable seat until there's a fix. I'm going to be persistent with this, but there better be some rep from chrysler at my dealer to look at the truck next week. I'm sick of being treated like this. They should've refused the fisrt replacement since the first seat looked alot better.
