Had my truck in shop for other issues, and my service man ordered me ANOTHER seat cover, it came in the next day, and he said that he was told that this cover should not have the same problem that was had in the previous three covers we have installed. Hope he's right, but I'm not counting on it.

Its funny how my dealer takes this differently than eveyone else. They called whoever is over the seat issue and they say not to replace the seat again because it's normal for that cover. At least they're honest about it.

If you seat cover is the same as the last three then it will do it again.

Regarding the comment on whether or not the seats are real leather or not, I have to say that I seriously doubt that the seats are leather. Compared to any other vehicle I have owned or seen or driven in with leather seats, the seats on our trucks seem very much like vinyl. They dont feel like leather, they dont smell like leather and they dont look like leather. Leaving the car in the sun results in very hot seats, which is not normal for leather but is normal for vinyl. Also, a real leather seat develops a 'shine' after several months or thousands of miles and these still look like plastic....
Bristal leather.....whatever....

Finally someone else realizes this is vinyl!

Anyway, the DM said today that they would replace the seat again with seats that shouldn't stretch according to the engineers. They said there was a bad batch. I know this is bs since others on this thread have heard the same thing so I'll just get bring it in again once they wear out.

Just out of curiousity what dealer are you dealing with? I am also in ND and mentioned it to the service dep at Minot Chrysler when i called in to make an appointment for some RRT's, and they said they hadn't heard anything along these lines.

Just a thought after reading this entire thread. Seems like if the "leather" is strectching, there's not enough support to keep it tight. Has anyone added a thin piece of foam to the seat under the leather to add some support? If they have to be pulled tight to clip in place, seems like a little extra padding wouldn't hurt things or cause the heated seats or cooled seats to become disfunctional.

Seems like that would cut off or down what little circulation we have on the vented seats.

Might would cutdown on the seat bottom but not the top. Foam isn't airtight so air would still be able to circulate through the seat. Since none would be added to the seat back still full "force" from the back. Some resistence on the bottom but your seat's leather should remain tight and not lose shape.

Just for reference, I have a Laramie with the vented seats. I see a bubble when I get out, but it goes away. Certainly nothing to the extent I have seen here. I do not ride with my wallet in my pocket and am very careful to actually use my step bars and sit into the seat versus sliding into the seat.

I'm letting chrysler do whatever needs done, the dealer would love to see me come in with the seats modified.
I wear my wallet in the seat and treat it the same way I treat any other seat. I'm certainly not going to baby the seats that cost more because chrysler made a mistake and won't own up to changing them
