Good News ECO Flash finally
Makes sense for the MDS to not work in Tow/Haul mode.
My truck is at the dealer today for 5 different things, one of them being this flash. The other 4 are:
- Short Intake Runner Valve issue causing check engine light
- Rear seal on slider coming unglued
- A/C seats not blowing like they used
- intermittently working driver side headlamp
and then at some point it has to go back again for the manifold bolts.
While none of these problems are "serious", this is the most any vehicle of mine has been in the shop.

yeah i'm still waiting for my manifold bolts too! its only been a month since i went to take my truck in for them and they had to reorder them... and i still have to check to see if my truck was built before 09 to see if i can get the Eco light. I'm guessing my truck is cuz i dont have a light coming on saying fuel saver or anything when i'm driving
Funny I called to ask about the studs and the dealer told me they are on hold at the factory because the ones on the line had to be replaced first so they want to make sure they have stock to run the lines so when they catch up they will send them. BS why only Canada gets held back.

My dealer did not have them when I took the truck in on a Friday but they were there the following Monday. They did not seem to indicate there was a problem getting them as they had been replacing several and had merely ran out. They did tell me that some were difficult to get out and in some cases the stud would have to be drilled out. I would assume this would require removing the engine or cylinder head. Mine did not require this. They said they had learned to go slow with it.
Took mine in today for an oil change and anything that it needed. They gave me a list of things they were going to do, but it didn't have the one for the ECO light. I gave the the number and they could not find it. Finally, they had a tech come in and he found it and said he would do it with everything else. He came in to the waiting area after about 45 minutes with a printout of this update and what it does and told me he didn't it but could not promise anything - for all he knew, when I hit 60 the engine would blow up. Well, after they did the oil change and everything else, I paid and left. Tried going into setup to enable the light and I still don't see it! Where on the list does it fall. I'm sure I went through them all and didn't see it. If I still don't have it I'm going to be disappointed.
You live in Alberta hey? so do i. Where did you get your Fuel Saver light done at there Deke? And my truck was built on 12/08 so my truck should qualify for the Fuel Saver light too correct?
Got my truck flashed finally and guess what? No fuel saver light for me.... The dealer told me my truck was built too early for it to work. I'm guessing they applied the wrong flash? Despite me providing them with the TSB? My truck was built 10/08. Time to try the other dealer.
