Couldn't you get standard black hoses? Where did you get the blue ones(silicone ?)? You could make the upper one come out over the alternator then go to the radiator. You could make support bolt on/weld to the alternator bracket.

Standard hoses wouldnt work. The 318 that came in these is a poly, this is an LA (not sure if its different but this is not an original engine). Plus this is a ford/mopar aluminum radiator and I moved it forward as far as I could to make sure I have room for a future engine swap.

I thought about a support going to the alternator. Im not sure if it would be better to support the engine side or the radiator side. Ill have to research that a little.

I guess I lied, unintentionally. I said I would post more today, but my wife got a notification last night that we had a deposit hit the bank. She checked and we got the stimulus check. I didnt ask for it, and I think its a horrible idea, but its there, so we are going to use it. I have been putting off some jobs around the house for awhile so we decided to get some things started. This summer Im going to be very busy.

On the truck side of things, Ill be ordering the shocks soon, I hope. I should have some parts come in this week, and Ill finish the coolant lines up. Ill try and start it next weekend, if everything goes well. Once its together, Ill weigh it and order the shocks. Hope to be driving it by summer, but I know how things can bite me too, so Im not holding my breath.

Plus if the weather will break, Im going to attempt to adjust the shifter linkage on the F100. If all goes well I might be driving them both this year.

Just joined, and reading through this thread.

First, very sorry for your loss. Nothing else I can say there.......

The truck brings back good memories for me. I learned how to drive on a '68 D100 sweptline. Slant 6, 3 on the tree. Of course, it was nearly new at the time! Fine work.

Bummer. I hope you don't develop it. I had it back in December and at first it was just a really bad back ache. I'd putter out in the garage for an hour and go sit down for two hours with extreme fatigue. My left eye rapidly went nearly blind from a cataract in just a couple of months after it. I had one before, but it was slow to develop. After Covid, I noticed a degradation every week or two. I also found out from the surgeon, I had one in the other eye too. Not as bad. When I had Covid, it was mostly tiredness and later, some chills. I didn't realize how bad I felt until after monoclonal antibody treatment. I didn't feel any different for about 3 hours then it hit. I spent 13 hours in bed and only gor up to drink a gallon of water. Literally. I keep a Brita pitcher full and it was empty the next morning.

If you start to feel bad, go to the Doctor right away. Early treatment makes a big difference.

Sorry to hear you had it so rough. That sounds pretty bad. I am over it now. Finally got some rest last night. Thursday and Friday night I just couldnt get comfortable. I had a high fever, and body ache. And the headache was next level. I usually get frequent headaches and migraine headaches all the time, but this was a major headache for about 48 hours straight. I was also fatigued and couldnt get anything done. But Im ok now. Still have some phlem to deal with, and a little lower back pain, but Im good. Now it looks like my wife is getting it.

I had a bit of a headache but then I realized I drink caffeine at work but just water at home so a diet Mountain Dew cleared the withdrawal headache up. One thing that helped was frequent hot showers. They eased the back aches.

Finally feel 100%. Had a rough 2 weeks. The Covid-19 virus ran through work and got probably 15 out of 25 people. Several had to go to the emergency room, one is still in ICU on a vent.

Havent worked on the truck at all. I didnt feel like it, and we started a bathroom remodel and I promised I would finish it before starting back on the truck. Plus work picked up while we were all out sick, so we all came back behind schedule, and are working overtime. Thats not a complaint. I spent most of 2020 working 36 hour weeks. Im glad to be back to normal. Plus our internet went out in the middle of quarantine, and they said it was in the house and they couldnt come in, because we were in quarantine...so we went without internet for the last 2 weeks, with 2 kids in online college courses and one being homeschooled. Good times.

Ill finish the bathroom tomorrow, and start on the truck next week. I should be really close to starting it. I have to finish the radiator installation, Ill be weighing the truck as soon as I get it started so I can get the shocks and springs. I hope to get the truck driving this summer.
