at the crank?! who the hell goes by crank HP?! 300@ crank = like 245@ rear wheels for an auto...

nobody cares about crank HP...numbers you put to the ground is what we like to see

example...before I really started modding my truck I did a baseline dyno run just to see what made it to the wheels...

factory rated 235hp/460tq @ crank... 213hp/447tq is what made it to the rear wheels...and that's with boost elbow, boost fooler, straight pipe exhaust, stupid cool air intake previous owner put on and biggest part: manual transmission.

manuals lose a lot less power through the drive train than automatics do...

No one can argue that!

Man, there's a hell lot more of tuning options for a OBD1 system than a OBD1/2 Hybrid!

While the 318 block may be dimensionally the same as the 360 block, I don't think the cylinder walls can be punched out more that about .060, before they start getting to thin to be safe......

There's the Dodge today. It sounds sooo much like a diesel sometimes LOL! Not a Cummins mind you.

Whoops. I was referring to Ford OBD1 EEC-IV systems. Very tunable evidently. I'm looking forward to modding this engine . Maybe. I kinda having a hard time between staying stock and gaining power. Which one should I choose?

Put some stacks on it already and then burn up that nearly 30 yr old transmission with all that new found horsepower.

One fine summers day when I was about 14 I decided to mow the lawn. When I finished I washed the underside of the mower deck and put it away in the garage. My dad was sitting in the other half of the garage lapping some valves in an engine head.

He called to me, when I went over there he told me to sit down on an up turned bucket. When I did he asked me what I knew about sex. So I told him all the stuff we had been told in school. He listened intently while I used all the correct words for how the magic worked.

After I finished with my dissertation he said that was about right and said I could go. The easiest way to go out was the man door behind where he was sitting so I went to pass around him and suddenly found myself about 6” off the floor pinned to the wall. Now, I was a pretty big fellow for my age. I was closeto 6' tall and probably weighed around 160 but he still pinned me up against the wall no problem.

He said I had described the actions correctly but told me that I better not ever do that with a female unless and until I was in love with them and married. Then he let me down handed me a package with a Trojan prophylactic in it and said ",... and when you do use one of these”.

It took me almost a month to ask what you use it for. I really had no clue.
