When i press on gas engine slows then revs up
I mentioned the small wires coming out of the disturber will be facing forward, that isn't correct, its only the shaft that get rotated, also I should make sure the rotor faces the temp sensor so it not a full 180, is that correct?
so where number one plug wire goes into the distributor dosnt matter as long as the rotor lines up with the mark in the cam position sensor then above in the distributor you plug in cylinder one plug wire?
So I did everything that I should have and it didn't even start, a few mild backfires but no start. Whats going on here? I put it back to the way it was and it does run, but a little ruff on idol and again there is the slight lag

I suspect that your method of finding TDC for number 1 is flawed.
The backfires indicate timing is way out. As for why it runs crappy...... It may be timing related (fuel sync) or there may be some other cause.

Well I lined up the mark on the harmonic balancer with the "TDC" on the aluminum front engine cover that you put the timing light on, I checked to make sure number one cylinder was at the top, I blasted air into the cylinder and pressure built up inside the cylinder and a bit blew back out when I removed the rubber tube that I push up against the spark plug hole. Is there something I a doing wrong with this technique?
