im kinda stuck between the 2 and 3 inch body lifts. i want to run 35s regardless but i dont want the whole frame sticking out. i may just go with spindles/blocks, 2 inch body lift. what gears would i need to run then and would my tires be stuffed or would i have some turning and flex room.

oh and i also found out that i have the 3.50 gear ratio to answer your question joe

once you get the lift etc. try it out if you dont do any towing or hilly highways you should be fine. my truck doesnt like to go up overpasses at highway speeds of 70+ in O/D (though thats probably more due to my blown plenum, 65mph doesnt bother it though, 22mpgs with the 32" tires). I, personally, would like a little more torque down low, thats why im considering gearing, I have a +1 rear sprocket on my bike which is exactly the same thing as going numerically higher gear set in the trucks.

Look at Aim4Squirrels's post about cost and since its only one axle you basically divide everything in half except maybe labor, depending on your shop or if you do it yourself.
and because i dont plan on ever going bigger than 35s if that im gonna stay right around 4:1 ratio, 3.96 or 4.10 gears.

If you go to 35's, and the expense of changing gears, go with 4.56. You will be pissed at yourself if you don't.

You'll be a dachshund running 3.5 with 35" tires.

I got a 97 2wd with rough country 2" coil spacers and 2" blocks and lifted my truck over 4" total. Running 33's with no rubbing. Wanna run 35's real bad, what y'all think bout the 3" body lift?

it sits level without the 2,000 lbs pallot of sod in the bed. but you can get an idea and see why I want to go with 33+ tires. the biggest problem i have is that the rims are so wide the tires stick out from the fenders, front and back, so i get a little rubbing when I'm turning and going over a bump at the same time, but only with brand new tires.

that looks pretty good. so i guess im going with the fabtech 6.5, 35s, and 4.56. but its gonna be a process of course. i still have to fix my radio, mirrors, dash, and the obnoxious ball joint squeel.
