Still waiting on build pics and slip info, but I have pics of the truck itself and an old pic of his first rendition but a lot has changed since. There's some video on youtube of a few autox clips

Loos like a pretty clean set up to me. The seats are not bad. The manual tranny looks fun. I like how it sounds.

let us know how it goes!

The same color thing there is the valve cover, it's not hooked to anything yet in that picture. I imagine he carried over from the other bank under the bell housing and y-piped it together with a custom manifold/header or just a J bend.

It's a shame that so many gearheads aren't too computer savy, or just don't care to share with those who aren't in their town. I would love to see more documentation of builds like this.

My truck had 110,000 miles when I sold it. That T-56 transmission will make a huge difference in RWHP. I think I was loosing major power with my 545-RFE. My last dyno was 310 rwhp and that was right before we discovered the planetary gears burned up in my trans.

My last dyno I had the following mods.

SCT Tuned by Hemifever
Paxton Novi 1000
3" Blower drive pulley (14 psi)
224 cams
Beehive valve springs
Cometic head gaskets
SVT #39 Injectors
Edge 3000 stall
4.10 Gears
JBA Headers
Spin Tech Cats
Borla 2.5” true dual exhaust
Alcohol Injection
Solid motor mounts
Solid tranny mounts
Engine Torque Dampers
69mm Throttle Body
HHR Fan/SPAL controller
180 T-stat

So I got a response back from the seller, he says he hasn't taken to the track since he had the built motor, bigger turbo, engine management, and t56 trans.

His first version with a 60-1, stock motor, 8# of boost, and a DMFU hit 103mph (probably around 13.5 to 14 1/4 mile) trap which was over 4 years ago so he doesn't remember the other slip times. He says top speed was never tested but is theoretically over 200mph, the t56 overdrive is .50:1 which makes 6th gear almost useless for any speed under 75-80

He put all the big stuff (T72, AEM, T56 trans with 12-15lbs of boost) in 4 years ago and has used it as his DD since then. Since then he has only replaced the 500hp clutch with a 600hp one when he 'sploded the other one with too much power. He also replaced both fuel pumps a year ago.

My thoughts on this, that's a long time to run a turbo with that much boost as a DD without needing any repairs, I can see a lot of stuff popping up as a new owner gets used to the power. If I bought it, I would be leadfootin it a lot but he has probably gotten over it's power by now.

I personally would have my foot glued to the floor for a while just out of sheer excitement. I already get 11mpg thanks to my foot with the muffler and superchips lol.

I (and the wife..) don't think I'm going to buy it, so I will let you all know what he wants for it.

He started at 15k firm and later said he'd do 11k minus the tonneau, bedrug, ccw wheels and tires, viper seats, cowl hood, kenny brown x-brace and xtra motor. He then dropped the price for everything down to 13k that also includes 4 viper rotors and 3 calipers that he never installed because a caliper got stolen.

It's worth looking into as long a he didn't wear the truck out. I agree with blown, that T56 would make a huge difference in rear HP. I just pulled my front drive shaft (I'M AWD) and I just smoke the rear tires from a roll at like half throttle so not sure how well it uses the power from a stop or low speed.

I just had an idea, not sure if it's a good one or if it's been thought of yet but has anyone ever though of making finned tubing for the return tube so you don't need an intercooler? I could only find some crappy examples online, but you should be able to get the idea. it would take a lot of small welding and I dunno how well the tube you guys use would stand up to it, but here's the pics.
